It’s surprising how many families consider their furry friend a part of their family. If you are one of the many families who consider your cat or dog a family member then you know how hard it is to find pet friendly vacation spots. Many hotels and motels do not allow cats or dogs, which can make it difficult if you want to bring them along for the family fun.

 

Luckily, there are some ways you can make your family vacation easier and more pet friendly.

Traveling by plane or train can be difficult if you have a cat or dog. If you wish to bring your furry friend along consider planning family vacations that you can get to by car. This allows you to save money by not having to board your furry friend on a plane or train, and you can spend some quality time bonding with your family. Your pet will also enjoy the car ride because there will be frequent opportunities to get the car and walk around so they won’t feel confined.

 

Pet Friendly Accommodations

 

Many hotels and motels are starting to incorporate pet friendly accommodations. It might take a little research but you can almost always find a lodging facility that welcomes cats and dogs. Some even have pet concierges to help attend to your pet while you enjoy some of the local attractions.

 

With a little research and planning there is no reason why you should have to leave your cat or dog at home or in a pet boarding facility for your next family vacation.

Packing for your holiday

Going on holiday is great! We look forward to our vacations each year, but for mom the thought of packing for the whole family can be overwhelming. Where do you start?

First of all make a list of what you need! If you try and pack for three or four people without a list you are bound to forget a vital pair of shoes or the kid’s swimsuits! The key is to pack clothes which you can dress up or dress down, or mix and match. Neutral colors are always the best choice when it comes to holiday clothes and, unless you are going to some remote location, most resorts will have washing and laundry facilities should you need to wash an item or two.

You need comfort too. If you are going exploring everyone needs a great pair of sneakers or walking shoes and a lightweight, comfortable pair of cargo pants which are functional for the day time and look smart-casual in the evening with a linen shirt. These items are unisex and great for every member of the family. One good sweatshirt or hoody is a staple of the holiday wardrobe, especially if they are Rocawear clothes. You can wear them on cooler nights or if you’re waiting in an air conditioned airport. They also folds up to make a great pillow on the plane!

For the evening only take two or three evening outfits. Unless you have a special function to attend to, a holiday should be about relaxing!

Vacation- Time To Unwind

In our fast paced lives, we are running from place to place for our work. Everyone is competing with each other. The board room stress is reflected in family. Many parents do not have sufficient time with their family. Same goes with children; they are burdened with getting higher marks and also excelling sports and other extracurricular activities. They too need a break. One or two days of work off cannot help you to rejuvenate oneself. Weekends are generally spent on catching up things. Here comes the importance of taking a vacation.

Vacation allows you to move away from your daily responsibilities and relax. It gives an opportunity to the parents to provide undivided attention to their children. For children vacation is the time that they are not bothered about studies or homework or classes. It is their time, time to enjoy and unwind. Choosing the Family Vacation Location

If the time has come for a family vacation, this can certainly be a happy time. With plenty of choices and opportunities, you have several options in terms of where to spend a week or weekend. Surely, the whole family will have no problems coming to a simple consensus.  Well, perhaps not. However, don’t fret if the whole family can’t agree immediately.

Traveling with Your Pet

Traveling with your family is a great way to connect and bond. However if you bring your pet along there can be even more great times to have, but there are certainly things you need to think about before you dive in and just do it.

Traveling with a pet requires much more planning than any other type of travel because you have to be very careful where you book to stay. Many hotels and motels either do not allow pets or have strict rules about the size and type of pets that are allowed to stay.

Once you have chosen your accommodations you still have other considerations. Depending on the time of year, you may not be able to leave your pet in the car to go in somewhere so your meals may have to be fast food or picnic foods. This is fine, but if your family is used to eating at fine restaurants this can be a shock.

Your pet will need somewhere to go to the bathroom that is comfortable for them as well as not offensive to other travelers or owners of the establishments. This can be hard to do, but many rest areas offer pet potty areas and simply require you clean up the solid waste.

Don’t forget to bring plenty of your pets favorite foods, toys and blankets when you travel. You want your pet to be comfortable and happy during the trip as well as when he or she is resting for the evening.

Hopefully your vacation with your pet turns out wonderful, it will be great as long as you put plenty of thought into how to keep your pet and family happy during the trip.

Choosing Food When Traveling

When you are traveling, one of the biggest decisions you will make is where to eat your meals. If you stay in a room or suite with a kitchen you may want to make some of your meals in the room. This is a great way to save money and have the flexibility to eat foods that everyone can agree on. But, this isn’t usually going to be an option, so you will have to find restaurants that will meet the needs of your entire family.

Fast food is a great way to satisfy the kids, but you and your spouse are likely going to get tired of it pretty quickly. There are many things you can do to make a fast food meal a bit more palatable though. Usually breakfast is pretty tasty, and is enough of a change from the hamburgers to make it feel different. Also there are many fast food restaurants that serve soup and salad. This is a great meal that will satisfy many tastes.

If you just have to eat at a real restaurant, you may want to pick one with a large and varied menu so your children can find something that will suit their needs. Restaurants like Chili’s and Applebee’s  have meals that are a bit nicer for the adults but they also have chicken fingers and hamburgers to keep your kids happy. Another popular option is Waffle House or the other diner style restaurants. They normally serve a varied menu that will satisfy everyone.

One final thing to consider is trying the local favorites wherever you are traveling. This can be hard to do if you have picky eaters, but is a great way to experience new foods and find a new favorite. Do some research on the internet before your trip begins and you will likely find some place new and exciting that has foods that will satisfy your entire family.
